The long-awaited Steamed Pork Dumplings!
There's actually four in the basket but I was too hungry and in a hurry so oops...
Look at how its filled with the soup! Not too salty and very flavorful. Thumbs up!
Just to share the proper way of eating the Steamed Pork Dumplings:
Step 1: Use your chopsticks and take the dumpling into a spoon without poking through the skin.
Step 2: Bite a small part of the skin on either sides and let the soup cool a little.
Step 3: You can either place the whole dumpling into your mouth for the original taste OR you can slowly drink the soup from the dumpling first, then move on to the ingredients.
NOTE: A good Steamed Pork Dumpling should have crystal clear soup and its skin should not be too thick nor too thin that it breaks easily. :)
Their Pan-fried Pork Dumplings is also a must-try! Heavenly! Best-tasted.
Other than the above dumplings which main ingredients consist of Pork, they do have the Steamed Vegetables Dumplings for vegans and vegetarians too. I tried to act healthy and gave them a go but they're a far cry from the pork ones. :(
The restaurant do serve a variety of other food too besides Dim Sum and many customers were there for their duck and other main dishes. As I was in a rush for time that day, I only had ample time to try a few of their dishes. This dish is one of my must-order dishes when I get the opportunity to visit Chinese restaurants as its rich in collagen and it tastes yummy! Food for the body and soul. May I present to you - Double-Boiled Shark Bone Soup with Fish Maw!
Other than having a wide array of food choices, the atmosphere and decorations here allows you to dine so enjoyably and to be immensely immersed in Chinese culture. I've got to say that they've placed in efforts to make this place a classic when it comes to Chinese Fine Dining.
They actually have a stage in the restaurant and they do have traditional Shanghai singing performances during the night to keep their diners entertained. Its a live performance and they'll be singing you some contemporary hits and some Chinese evergreens!
Look! Even their cutleries and pots are all so ancient-looking. HAHA.
